PROJECT DETAILS

We seek to provide a quality education that unleashes the full potential of refugee children in Uganda. We do so by creating refugee led and managed schools with an acceptable curriculum within the vicinity of the refugee communities to ease transition and access to quality education.

Providing a quality education provides a child with a strong foundation and a quick adaptation in his/her academic, social and career journey. This is why our school’s curriculum fuses academics and social development through play-based learning that enable children learn while socializing. We currently educate children from the age of 3 to 12, that is from nursery school to primary 3. The children are given an education and space to grow.

Refugees in general from the youngest to the oldest, often face challenges with adapting to the new country’s languages, culture, and policies. This makes access to quality education and sustainable employment difficult for them.

Over 40% of the refugee children in Uganda have little or no access to quality education and this is due to lack of enough schools within refugee communities, language barrier caused by differences in the language of study and that of the refugees, hunger, lack of enough qualified teachers, long distance to the existing school and crowded classrooms.
